Our Mission
The Neighbor Network is a non-profit initiative working to foster assimilation, integration, and relations between refugees, asylum seekers, immigrants, and US citizens.
Refugees and asylum seekers are some of the most vulnerable populations in the world. Most have survived circumstances unimaginable to most; being forced to leave their home, their job, their extended family, everything they know–often at very short notice–and begin again in a new country and frequently an unfamiliar language. However, even after all of that, refugees commonly face many additional challenges from the communities in which they seek safety. These include racism, prejudice, discrimination, xenophobia, exploitation, and more.
The Neighbor Network intends to raise awareness of the refugee crisis but also promote the invaluable diversity, expertise and experience that refugees bring to US businesses, communities and schools. We do this by creating engaging content and resources that can be utilized in any workplace or classroom. These resources are designed to help break down cultural barriers and misconceptions to create more welcoming spaces for refugees, and a brighter future for all.
